We are in tough times that will only get tougher, and Sacramento faces serious challenges with no easy solutions—despite the false promises we often hear from elected officials. Overpromising and underdelivering has eroded trust in government, but I refuse to engage in that. Instead, I promise to treat you like an adult—deserving of honesty and respect, and capable of understanding both the need for compromise and the complex nature of our political system.

My Priorities

Sacramento County is in the middle of an unprecedented affordability crisis. Rents and home prices are rising faster than wages, and only about one in three people eligible for affordable housing actually receive it. That’s not because the need isn’t there—it’s because our system isn’t working for everyday people.

As your Supervisor, I will fight for bold, practical solutions to help ensure everyone in our community has a safe and affordable place to call home:

Build and Preserve Affordable Housing: Push the county to invest more in affordable housing development and protect the homes we already have from being lost to speculation and neglect.
Innovative Solutions: Champion creative approaches like home-sharing programs that provide immediate, cost-effective housing options.
Prevent Homelessness: Strengthen countywide prevention efforts so fewer people fall into homelessness in the first place, saving both lives and taxpayer dollars.

Housing is the foundation for everything else—stability, health, and opportunity. It’s time for Sacramento County to put people first.

Reliable, affordable, and safe transportation is essential for opportunity, yet Sacramento County residents are too often left with limited options. Long commutes, unsafe bike routes, and unreliable public transit make it harder for people to get to work, school, and essential services. We deserve a transportation system that works for everyone—not just for those who can afford to drive everywhere.

As your Supervisor, I will work to build a smarter, more connected transportation system:

Affordable, Reliable Transit: Support investments in a transit system that people can count on—buses and light rail that run frequently, on time, and at a price people can afford.
Safe Streets for All: Expand safe bike and pedestrian infrastructure so everyone—kids, seniors, commuters—can travel safely in their own neighborhood.
Climate & Air Quality: Reduce traffic congestion and pollution by supporting alternatives to car-dependence, helping Sacramento meet its climate goals while improving public health.
Equity & Access: Ensure underserved communities have a voice in transportation planning so that improvements actually serve those who need them most.

Smart transportation policy isn’t just about moving people from point A to point B—it’s about creating healthier, safer, and more connected communities.

County government makes decisions that impact our daily lives—from housing and transportation to health care and public safety—yet too often it operates in the shadows. A $9 billion budget is being managed with little public awareness or input, and that’s unacceptable.

As your Supervisor, I will fight to bring sunlight into the process:

Regular Town Halls & Community Meetings: Go beyond the minimum and actively meet with residents across the district to listen, share information, and problem-solve together.
Accessible Information: Make county budgets, contracts, and decisions easier for the public to find, understand, and weigh in on.
Engaged Representation: Put residents at the table for major decisions—not just lobbyists and special interests.
Straightforward Communication: Treat constituents with honesty and respect, speaking plainly about challenges and opportunities rather than hiding behind bureaucratic language.

Transparency is about trust. You deserve a Supervisor who works in the open, listens to you, and makes decisions with the community—not behind closed doors.

A strong local economy means good jobs, thriving small businesses, and fair competition. But too often, our economy is tilted in favor of big corporations that crowd out local entrepreneurs and stifle innovation. Sacramento County can and should do more to create an environment where workers and small businesses—not monopolies—can thrive.

As your Supervisor, I will work to build a fairer, more inclusive economy by:

Investing in Job Training: Expand workforce development programs that connect residents to good-paying jobs, especially in growing fields like clean energy, health care, and technology.
Cutting Red Tape for Small Businesses: Streamline permitting and licensing processes that burden small businesses, while keeping rules fair and transparent.
Standing Up to Corporate Power: Push back against monopolistic practices that allow large corporations to dominate markets, drive up costs, and squeeze out small businesses.
Building Resilient Communities: Ensure economic development strengthens neighborhoods by creating jobs locally, reinvesting in underserved areas, and keeping wealth circulating in our community.

Economic growth should serve the many, not the few. By investing in people, empowering small businesses, and holding corporate power accountable, we can build a stronger, fairer Sacramento County.
